My Story

My Story

I was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada when I was four. I have lived and worked on a farm all my life and been working on it at spring and harvest since I was eleven. When I was twelve dad taught me how to drive the combine and I've ran it since then every harvest. In spring I worked the land for dad and he seeded. our farm was 2000 acres. In the summer I sail with the Manitoba Sailing Team and have been racing with them since I was 12 or 13 in a Laser Radial.

day ten

Day ten

We left Windsor today, and reenacted the battle of 1812 on Lake Erie. I think around 15 tall ships were there we all sailed together and fired blanks out of our cannons. I had to go up the rigging and help tie up sails and “the Pride of Baltimore came along beside us and fired all of her cannons. The sound waves shook my body defiantly wasn’t expecting that scared the crap out of me! On top of all the tall ships there was also 500 cruiser/sail boats pretty amazing day. This is the first time in history that the battle has been reenacted. It was a unique and amazing experience really cool to be a part of and better yet we were the main attraction!
